The Educators Gateway to 3D Printing

The Educators Gateway leads you to affordable 3D printing for your learning environment, this new education specific programme will help ArtSystems and MakerBot to provide schools and other teaching facilities with quicker, simpler and more effective bespoke access to 3D printing technology. This programme has been developed using the experiences of the UK&I education arenas and the need to overcome barriers that still exist for many education sectors in adopting 3D printing. ArtSystems will be exhibiting at BETT 2018 on January 24th-27th at Excel, London, Stand G130, Halls N6-N7) with the MakerBot Replicator range of desktop 3D printers.

Ted Freer, Divisinal Manager, Design, from ArtSystems, explained the initiative: “We have spent the last three years with our MakerBot channel partners providing 3D printing systems to the education sector, and it became very clear that schools and colleges needed a new and easier way to access 3D printing technology. Lack of training, support, and resource management – plus limited budgets – are all major barriers to access. Thanks to The Educators’ Gateway to 3D Printing programme we can address these barriers in an integrated way that lets teachers use as much or as little as they need to achieve their goals.”

He continued: “The Educators Gateway to 3D Printing means any teaching establishment can put together a bespoke 3D printing solution that is unique to them, using leading hardware technology from MakerBot backed up by ArtSystems’ support and training services. Budget plans also form a key part of the Gateway concept with a range of flexible options to enable education budgets go further and get even better value.”

At BETT, there will be a range of STEM related demonstration on ArtSystems’ Stand G130. The new MakerBot Educators Guidebook forms the centrepiece of a range of learning support resources, these resources aim to provide teachers with access to an introduction to 3D printing and 3D design, a broad selection of best practice lesson plans for a wide variety of subjects and grade levels. from which they can choose the most relevant to their class needs.
