EinScan Rigil Lite

The EinScan Rigil Lite is a standalone handheld 3D scanner built to give users an all-in-one workflow with a lower entry point into the Rigil range. It integrates the scanner, display, computing, storage, and power supply into one device, allowing users to scan, process, and export directly on the unit without relying on a PC for day-to-day work. That makes it a practical option for reverse engineering, product design, workshop inspection, digital archiving, and general professional 3D scanning where portability and simplified workflow matter.

Positioned as a cost-effective model within the Rigil series, the Rigil Lite retains the core scanning capabilities needed for regular scanning tasks. It combines advanced multi-tracking, marker-free laser scanning, hybrid light technology, full-colour texture capture, and scene-adaptive presets for dark, reflective, and outdoor scanning. With built-in computing, Wi-Fi 6, a rechargeable and replaceable battery, and on-device project handling, it is designed to keep scanning workflows self-contained and efficient.

All-in-One Standalone Workflow

EinScan Rigil Lite on-device workflow

The Rigil Lite is built around the same all-in-one concept as the wider Rigil series, combining hardware and software into a single handheld platform. The official workflow is fully on-device, allowing users to calibrate, scan, edit, mesh, align, and export from one unit. This reduces setup complexity and makes the scanner easier to deploy in workshops, on-site jobs, and mobile scanning environments where carrying extra hardware is not ideal.

Built-in computing is part of the core specification, with 24GB RAM in the regular version and on-device storage provided through 64GB eMMC plus a 512GB SSD. A 6.4-inch 2K touchscreen makes it easier to inspect scan data, confirm alignment, and manage projects directly on the scanner, while built-in Wi-Fi 6 supports flexible data handling and workflow convenience.

Advanced Multi-Tracking Mode

Tracking stability is central to the Rigil Lite’s design. In IR mode, the system supports feature, marker, and texture tracking, with these methods freely combinable alongside global markers. In laser mode, it supports feature tracking, marker tracking, and global markers. This flexible approach helps maintain alignment across a wider range of objects and working conditions, especially when dealing with mixed surfaces or more complex scan paths.

For everyday professional work, this means the scanner can adapt more easily to different object types without forcing the operator into one rigid capture method. Whether the job involves textured objects, engineered parts, or more irregular forms, the multi-tracking approach is designed to improve workflow stability and reduce time lost to tracking interruptions.

Marker-Free Laser Scanning

EinScan Rigil Lite marker-free laser scanning

The Rigil Lite supports marker-free laser scanning for high-feature surfaces and situations where placing markers is inconvenient, time-consuming, or physically awkward. This is particularly useful when working around structures with limited access or tight spaces, such as motorcycle assemblies, mechanical frameworks, or other parts where marker placement can slow the process down.

The intended workflow is to begin from a feature-rich area, build out the scan in sections, and then refine local details as needed. By reducing marker preparation, the Rigil Lite helps users start faster and keep scanning moving, which is valuable for both workshop jobs and field capture where speed and practicality matter.

Hybrid Light Source with Dual Laser Modes

The Rigil Lite uses a hybrid light setup that combines blue laser and IR VCSEL scanning. Its laser system includes 17 + 17 crossed blue laser lines for speed, coverage, and steadier tracking, plus 7 blue laser parallel lines for finer detail and sharper edge capture. These two laser modes can be switched during the same scan in around one second, allowing users to move between faster area coverage and more detailed local capture without restarting the job.

Alongside the laser modes, IR VCSEL scanning is designed for broad coverage on medium-to-large objects, portrait-safe scanning, and more reliable use in outdoor conditions. The hybrid arrangement gives the Rigil Lite a wider operating range across everyday professional scanning tasks, rather than forcing users to choose between a fast scanner and a detail-focused scanner.

Texture Capture and Difficult Surface Handling

EinScan Rigil Lite 5MP texture scanning

The integrated 5MP texture system allows the Rigil Lite to capture full-colour texture data in both laser and IR modes. This is useful for workflows where surface appearance matters alongside geometry, such as digital archiving, product presentation, documentation, or textured model creation for design and visualisation work.

The scanner also includes scene-adaptive scanning presets for reflective and dark surfaces, reducing the amount of surface preparation needed on jobs that would traditionally require more trial and error. According to the product information, users can choose a reflective preset to improve results on shiny or difficult materials without spray, helping reduce retries and speed up the overall capture process.

Built for Indoor, Outdoor, and Mobile Use

The Rigil Lite is designed to work across a range of environments, including indoor workspaces and outdoor scanning conditions. The outdoor preset is intended to support practical on-site capture by helping users establish the main outline first, then walk around the object for full coverage, and finally refine corners and deeper detail areas. This makes it better suited to scanning larger objects or field-based subjects without having to move the workflow back to a desk-based setup.

Mobility is also supported by a rechargeable and replaceable battery, with up to 3 hours of runtime stated on the official page. The ability to swap batteries and continue scanning with minimal downtime is useful for longer sessions, site visits, and jobs where stopping to recharge would interrupt workflow.
