3DMakerpro Hawk Professional LiDAR 3D Scanner
3DMakerpro Hawk Professional LiDAR 3D Scanner
The 3DMakerpro Hawk is a professional mobile LiDAR scanner developed for surveying, construction, engineering, inspection and large-scale digital-twin projects. It combines a hybrid solid-state LiDAR system, dual 13MP colour cameras and NIR visual tracking to record dense, accurately aligned point clouds while the scanner is moved through indoor or outdoor environments.
Unlike the Raven range, which is divided into Standard, Max and Max RTK editions, the Hawk is currently presented as a complete professional scanning package. The supplied configuration includes RTK equipment, two interchangeable battery handles and a protective hard case for field deployment.
Hawk captures up to 480,000 points per second and provides quoted accuracy of 1.5cm at a distance of 10 metres. Its extended 63.5° vertical field of view, 360° horizontal coverage and multi-echo LiDAR technology allow complex buildings, façades, industrial plants and outdoor sites to be recorded with fewer blind spots.
High-Density LiDAR Capture
Hawk records up to 480,000 points per second, creating a dense spatial dataset as the operator moves through the scanning area. This higher capture rate helps preserve structural detail across walls, machinery, façades and other complex surfaces while reducing the time required to collect large sites.
Its hybrid solid-state LiDAR engine supports multi-echo measurement, allowing the scanner to record multiple returned signals from a single emitted pulse. This can improve environmental capture where vegetation, openings, reflective surfaces or partially obstructed features are present.
- Up to 480,000 captured points per second
- 1.5cm quoted accuracy at 10m
- Multi-echo LiDAR measurement
- 80–140m total scanning range
Wide-Angle Mobile Mapping
The Hawk provides a 360° horizontal field of view and an extended 63.5° vertical field of view. This allows the system to record more of the surrounding environment during each pass, reducing blind spots above and below the operator.
The scanner can be used as a handheld system or integrated into tripod, bicycle, vehicle and compatible aerial scanning arrangements. This gives professional users a single capture platform for building interiors, construction areas, roads, industrial facilities and other large environments.
- 360° horizontal scanning coverage
- 63.5° vertical field of view
- 40–70m quoted scanning radius
- Handheld, tripod and vehicle-mounted operation
Dual Colour Cameras and NIR Tracking
Hawk uses two 13MP cameras with 1-inch sensors to record colour information alongside the LiDAR point cloud. The larger image sensors are designed to preserve surface texture and colour detail across varied lighting conditions, supporting colour point clouds, textured polygon models and Gaussian Splatting scenes.
A separate NIR visual-tracking camera assists the positioning system in low-light areas and spaces containing repeated geometric features. This provides an additional visual reference where LiDAR geometry alone may make movement more difficult to track.
- Two 13MP colour cameras
- 1-inch camera sensors
- Dedicated NIR visual-tracking camera
- HDR support across a 3–5 EV range
Field-Ready Metal Construction
The Hawk is built around a compact metal enclosure with an IP65 rating for protection against dust and water ingress. At approximately 900g, the scanner remains light enough for mobile data collection while providing a more robust construction for construction sites, industrial facilities and outdoor survey work.
Power is supplied through a removable 12,000mAh battery handle, providing up to one hour of operation. The quick-release design allows a depleted handle to be exchanged for the second supplied battery, while 65W charging and external power support provide additional options for longer scanning sessions.
- IP65-rated metal scanner body
- Approximately 900g scanner weight
- 12,000mAh interchangeable battery handle
- 65W fast charging and external power support
Point-Cloud and Digital-Twin Workflow
Scan data can be monitored through the integrated 3.9-inch display and transferred through Wi-Fi 5 or either of the Hawk's two USB Type-C connections. The accompanying processing workflow includes point-cloud denoising and optimisation tools for preparing captured data.
Hawk supports colour point-cloud, polygon-model and Gaussian Splatting output. These formats make it suitable for architectural documentation, construction monitoring, virtual exhibitions, film production, inspection and digital-twin visualisation.
- Integrated 3.9-inch display
- Wi-Fi 5 connectivity
- Two USB Type-C interfaces
- PLY and OBJ workflow support
