3DMakerpro Moose High-Precision 3D Scanner

The 3DMakerpro Moose is a compact blue-light 3D scanner developed for capturing small and medium-sized objects with detailed surface geometry and full-colour texture. With accuracy of up to 0.03mm, 0.07mm resolution and AI visual tracking, it is suited to reverse engineering, product design, 3D printing, education, digital archiving and creative modelling.

Moose is available in Standard, Premium and Luxury packages. The Standard package includes the scanner, charger and data cable. Premium adds a basic turntable, tripod and carry bag for more controlled desktop scanning, while Luxury also includes the Smart Grip for compatible Android and iOS mobile scanning.

All three packages use the same Moose scanner hardware, including a blue LED structured-light system, 24-bit colour-texture capture and a recommended object-size range of approximately 15mm to 1,500mm. The package choice therefore depends on whether the scanner will be used mainly with a computer, as a desktop scanning station or as a portable mobile setup.

0.03mm High-Precision Scanning

Moose captures geometry with accuracy of up to 0.03mm and a point resolution of 0.07mm. This allows the scanner to preserve edges, contours, recesses and surface details needed for measurement, model reconstruction and 3D-printing workflows.

The scanner is particularly suited to medium-format objects such as mechanical components, sculptures, footwear, automotive parts, props and educational models. A single capture area of 200 × 100mm helps balance detail with practical coverage.

  • Accuracy: up to 0.03mm
  • Resolution: 0.07mm
  • Single capture range: 200 × 100mm
  • Typical object size: 15–1,500mm

Blue-Light Structured Scanning

Moose uses blue LED structured light to capture fine geometric detail across small and medium-sized objects. Blue light has a shorter wavelength than near-infrared light, helping the scanner record smaller surface features and sharper transitions.

The scanner also provides up to 100mm of scan depth, making it better suited to recessed features, curved components and objects containing more complex vertical geometry. Transparent, reflective, very dark or heavily textured surfaces may still require scanning spray.

  • Blue LED structured-light system
  • Up to 100mm scan depth
  • Suitable for detailed and recessed geometry
  • Scanning spray may be required on difficult surfaces

AI Visual Tracking and Error Correction

Moose uses AI visual tracking to recognise surface features and maintain alignment as the scanner moves around an object. This marker-free workflow reduces setup time and makes handheld scanning more forgiving when the operator changes direction or temporarily loses tracking.

JMStudio applies smart error correction to remove flawed or misaligned point-cloud data while retaining useful captured points. Automatic alignment can then stitch scan passes together in most common scanning situations.

  • Marker-free AI visual tracking
  • Automatic point-cloud error correction
  • Automatic alignment of scan passes
  • Up to 10 frames per second

Colour Capture and JMStudio Workflow

Moose records 24-bit colour textures alongside the scanned geometry, making it suitable for digital archiving, character capture, visualisation and other projects where surface appearance is as important as shape.

The free JMStudio software manages connection, calibration, real-time capture, editing, optimisation and export. Finished models can be saved as STL, OBJ, PLY or ASC files for use in slicers, CAD tools, mesh editors and digital-content applications.

  • 24-bit colour-texture capture
  • Real-time scanning preview
  • One-click model optimisation
  • STL, OBJ, PLY and ASC export
