The 3DMakerpro Seal is a compact blue-light 3D scanner designed for accurately digitising small objects, detailed components, miniatures and textured models. It combines accuracy of up to 0.01mm, a minimum point spacing of 0.05mm and 24-bit colour capture, making it suitable for reverse engineering, product development, digital archiving, creative modelling and high-detail 3D-printing workflows.
Seal is the higher-specification model in the Seal series. Compared with Seal Lite, it provides greater accuracy, finer resolution, full-colour texture capture and an aluminium-alloy enclosure. Seal Lite remains the lighter and more affordable alternative, but the standard Seal is better suited to projects where fine geometry and surface colour both need to be preserved.
The scanner is designed primarily for objects measuring approximately 10–300mm. It can be connected directly to a compatible Windows or macOS computer, while mobile scanning is available with a compatible Android or iOS device when the optional Smart Grip is used.
0.01mm Precision for Small Objects
Seal captures object geometry with accuracy of up to 0.01mm and a minimum point spacing of 0.05mm. This level of detail allows small edges, surface textures, dents, engravings and dimensional features to be reproduced in the resulting digital model.
Its 100 × 75mm single capture area is designed for controlled scanning of smaller objects rather than large components or environments. Typical applications include miniatures, jewellery prototypes, mechanical parts, sculptures, collectables and product-design samples.
Precision Blue Structured Light
Seal uses blue structured light with a wavelength between approximately 400 and 500nm. The shorter wavelength allows a finer projected pattern to be used when recording surface geometry, supporting higher-detail capture across small objects.
The scanner operates at a working distance of 180–280mm and captures up to 10 frames per second. Integrated anti-shake optical technology helps reduce the effect of small hand movements during handheld scanning, supporting smoother point-cloud alignment.

24-Bit Full-Colour Texture Capture
A dedicated colour camera records 24-bit texture information separately from the geometric scan. This allows Seal to create models that preserve both physical shape and visible surface appearance.
Colour capture is useful for digital archiving, collectable scanning, game assets, product visualisation and creative projects where markings, painted details and surface contrast need to be retained. The texture-capture process does not reduce the accuracy of the geometric model.

JMStudio Scanning and Model Export
Seal works with 3DMakerpro JMStudio, which is supplied free with the scanner. The software provides real-time capture, point-cloud editing, automatic optimisation, multi-scan alignment, point-cloud fusion and mesh export.
Seal uses visual tracking and does not normally require tracking markers. Completed scans can be exported as STL files for direct use in slicing software, or as OBJ, PLY and ASC files for further editing, reverse engineering, rendering and digital-content workflows.
