What materials can the FLUX Beambox II cut and engrave?
The FLUX Beambox II uses a 55W CO2 laser to process materials including wood, plywood, acrylic, leather, cardboard, paper, fabric and rubber. It can also engrave compatible surfaces such as glass and anodised or coated metals. As with any laser cutter, maximum cutting thickness varies according to the material, density, moisture content and chosen speed and power settings.
What is the working area of the FLUX Beambox II?
The FLUX Beambox II provides a 600 x 375 mm working area, giving it considerably more room than smaller desktop machines such as the beamo. It has up to 125 mm of internal working depth without the honeycomb platform and can accommodate even taller objects when used with the optional Extension Pocket.
Can the FLUX Beambox II cut long materials using a passthrough?
Yes. An optional passthrough system allows longer sheets and workpieces to extend through the front and rear of the FLUX Beambox II. This is useful for signs, panels and other projects longer than the standard 600 mm working area. Opening the passthrough changes the laser safety classification, so the appropriate training, protective equipment and operating procedures must be followed.
Can the FLUX Beambox II engrave curved surfaces?
Yes. The FLUX Beambox II supports curve engraving, which measures changes in surface height and dynamically adjusts the Z-axis during engraving. This allows the laser to maintain focus more effectively over certain curved surfaces instead of treating the workpiece as completely flat.
Can the FLUX Beambox II engrave bottles and tumblers?
Yes. The FLUX Beambox II is compatible with the FLUX Chuck Rotary system for engraving cylindrical and rounded products such as bottles, glasses and tumblers. The Extension Pocket provides additional vertical clearance for rotary work and larger objects.
