THE K6™ ABS FR
THE K6™ ABS FR is a flame-retardant ABS designed to deliver mechanical strength while meeting UL94 V-0 self-extinguishing standards at 1.5 mm thickness. This formulation maintains the toughness and durability expected from ABS while adding enhanced fire-safety properties, making it ideal for structural components, enclosures, and functional parts used in environments where ignition resistance is essential. It offers stable printing behaviour and consistent performance without sacrificing material integrity.

Responsible use centres on selecting the right grade, making parts that remain useful and minimising waste through suitable storage and printing conditions. ABS is not expected to biodegrade appreciably in the environment. Collect clean printing waste separately and check whether a specialist recycler can accept it. Flame-retardant ABS must be identified separately because its additives can affect recovery and processing. For applications requiring REACH, RoHS, TSCA or California Proposition 65 compliance, confirmation should be based on current documentation covering the specific filament grade and colour. Flame resistance is a separate performance characteristic and should be assessed against the relevant grade-specific test documentation. |
