Xtreme Lock Premium Build Plate Adhesive
Xtreme Lock Professional 3D Printing Build Plate Adhesive
Xtreme Lock is a professional-grade build plate adhesive developed by Menhir for demanding FDM and FFF 3D printing applications. Its polyurethane-based formula provides superior adhesion and reliable first-layer performance, helping prevent warping, corner lifting and failed prints.
Designed for both common and high-performance filaments, Xtreme Lock provides flawless adhesion for materials such as PEEK, PEI and PEKK, while remaining compatible with PLA, ABS, PETG, Nylon and other widely used thermoplastics.
Superior Adhesion for Technical and High-Temperature Materials
Xtreme Lock maintains a stable bond throughout demanding print cycles, including applications involving enclosed printers, heated chambers and high bed temperatures. This helps create a secure foundation beneath large, complex or dimensionally critical parts.
Its versatile formula supports materials ranging from PLA, ABS and PETG through to Nylon, PEEK, PEI and PEKK. It is suitable for use on common build surfaces including glass, PEI and carbon fibre, with heated beds operating at temperatures up to 180°C.
Professional Performance with Simple Application
Xtreme Lock is applied directly to a cold, clean build plate, removing the need to preheat the surface before use. Its controlled consistency allows it to be spread into a thin, even layer without excessive dripping or pooling.
A single application can support multiple print cycles, while a 120 ml bottle can provide more than 300 prints depending on the build area and application thickness. This makes it suitable for workshops, print farms and production environments that regularly switch between standard and engineering-grade materials.
Material Compatibility
| Material | Compatibility | Application |
|---|---|---|
| PLA | Compatible | Models, prototypes and general-purpose prints. |
| PETG | Compatible | Functional parts and reliable everyday printing. |
| ABS | Compatible | Helps reduce warping and corner lifting. |
| Nylon | Compatible | Engineering and wear-resistant components. |
| PEEK | Compatible | High-temperature industrial parts. |
| PEI | Compatible | Thermally stable technical components. |
| PEKK | Compatible | Complex engineering and production parts. |
| Polypropylene | Not recommended | Not suitable for PP-based filaments. |
How to Apply Xtreme Lock
Shake the bottle thoroughly before use and ensure the build plate is clean and free from dust, grease or previous adhesive residue. Apply a small amount of Xtreme Lock directly to the cold build surface, then spread it into a thin, even layer using a clean brush. Allow the adhesive to dry for a few minutes before calibrating the first layer and starting the print.
Once printing is complete, allow standard materials such as PLA, ABS and PETG to cool before removing the part. Remaining adhesive can be cleaned from the build plate using water or isopropyl alcohol. For high-temperature materials, using a brim is recommended to provide additional support and reduce the risk of lifting.
Please note: Xtreme Lock is not recommended for use with polypropylene filaments. Always follow the filament and build surface manufacturer’s guidance when printing high-temperature materials.
